Yamaha unveiled their new 250 cc bike R25 at 43rd Tokyo Motor show. Inspired from Valentino Rossi's YZR-M1 MotoGP bike, new Yamaha R25 will be a revolution in Indian market. This concept vehicle is expected to be launched in India by the starting of 2015.
Yamaha R25 has a sporty muscular look with an aggressive and weight forward riding position, Moto-Gp style air intake,alloy wheels, edgy tail with LED tail lamp and a tubular chassis. New Yamaha R25 has an overall dimension of 2000x720x1140mm. Yamaha has not released images of instrument console but is expected to have analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, digital fuel gauge, digital odometer and trip-meter. It is available in blue/white colours.
Powered by a newly developed 249cc, in-line parallel twin cylinders, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine with fuel injection Yamaha R25 is expected to deliver 35+ BHP with a torque around 28+ NM. It is coming with constant-mesh 6-speed transmission.
Yamaha has to face tough competition from Honda CBR250R and Ninja 300. In power specs its way ahead of CBR and close to Ninga. But the price of Ninga is around 3.5 lakhs,where for Yamaha R25 it is expected to be available around 2.75 Lakhs. So we can conclude that, this is going to be the best selling bike among 250cc category in India.
